| Description |
The Cedric was a large car built by Nissan from 1960-2004. Sharing mechanicals with Datsun, these were the first cars built by Nissan with the Nissan name, previously the Austin A40 Somerset and the A50 Cambridge were built under licence by Nissan in Japan; this arrangement ended in 1959. These first generation Cedrics were divided into two Series, the 1960-62 30 Series and the 1962-65 31 Series The 30 Series featured stacked quad headlights, models available were the 1500 Standard, 1500 Deluxe, 1900 Deluxe, 1900 Custom, Van and Wagon The later 31 Series featured side by side quad headlights and was 7 inches longer, the 1900 Standard was now available. In 1964 the 1500 Standard was dropped, the dashboard revised and an alternator replaced the generator 1965 saw a revised grille. Along wheelbase version , the Cedric Special 50 available from 1963-65, it had a different grille and more luxurious interior. Engine; 70hp 1500 4 cyl or 87hp 1900 4 cyl (2800 6 cyl Special 50) |
