English: 1965 Renault Rambler assembled in Belgium. Scan of the sales catalogue cover. Purpose of image: it shows joint business with Renault branding of a CKD American Motors automobile (the Rambler Classic). The French company discontinued the assembly of American cars in Belgium in 1967. It is also difficult to picture the complete knock down because it would look like almost any other production line. What makes this image unique is the French company name on the 1965 American product without any modifications for the foreign market. The image was freely provided to promote this item with the intention that it be distributed for "free" by the media to the public. |
