Summary[edit]

Description

Warrick Yellow. The HK Holden was built from Jan 1968-May 1969. The all new HK was larger and heavier than the HR and came with a larger array of options and mechanical features. A V8 was available for the first time in a Holden. Sedans available were the base Belmont, then Kingswood, the luxury Premier and the longer Brougham. Also available now was the 2 door coupe; the Monaro, available in base, sporty GTS and race ready GTS327. The GTS got full instrumentation, the tacho was on the centre console, vents in the guards and racing stripes. The HK Monaro became the basis for a car that was very competitive on the race track winning at Bathurst in 1968, driven by Bruce McPhee and Barry Mulholland. Also available were the wagon, utility and panel van. Engines; The Red 6 cyl; 145hp 186S.

V8s; 210hp 307 and 250hp 327 V8s (only in Monaro GTS 327)
