| Description |
The VG Valiant was built in Australia from August 1970-June 1971. Visually, the VG was just a facelift of the VF, now rectangular headlights and a single plane grille, the taillamps wrapped around the corner, but big news was the new Hemi engine to replace the Slant Six with hemispherical combustion chambers. Models available were; The Standard Sedan, Hardtop or Safari wagon. The Regal (sedan. hardtop or wagon) upmarket interior with central armrest, wheel trim rings and wheel arch moulds. The Regal 770 (sedan or hardtop) all the Regal features plus bucket seats and a console. The longer wheelbase VIP sedan got 4 round headlights, different rear lights, unique rear window and vinyl roof. The high performance Pacer sedan and now 2 door hardtop as well, got more power, better brakes and suspension, sporty interior, red and black grille and side stripes Also available was the Wayfarer Utility and the more basic Dodge utility with painted bumpers and grille Engine; 140 hp 215 cu in Hemi 6 cyl, 165 or 185hp 245 cu in Hemi 6 cyls or 230 hp 318 cu in V8 |
