Deutsch: 12.08.1971 DDR 1510 [14469] Potsdam-Sanssouci: Ruinenberg (GMP: 52.409835,13.038780). Zur Bewässerung der Fontänen im südlich an das Schloß Sanssouci (1745-1747) angrenzenden Park ließ Friedrich der Große 1748 auf der Kuppe nördlich hinter dem Schloß ein Wasserreservoir bauen und mit künstlichen Ruinen als antikisierende Gestaltungselemente ausschmücken. Im Zuge der Landschaftsverschönerung um Potsdam beauftragte Friedrich Wilhelm IV. den Gartenarchitekten Peter Joseph Lenné 1841 mit der gärtnerischen Gestaltung des Ruinenberggeländes.
