| Description |
The VJ Valiant was built in Australia from May 1973-October 1975. The VJ was a facelifted version of the all Australian designed and built VH, a new grille and back to round headlights. Due to a decline in market share, there were a lot less models available in the VJ range. The Pacer, Ranger XL, Regal 770 and Charger R/T were dropped. Models available were; Ranger; Sedan or Wagon, Standard 215 (245 option) Regal; Sedan, Wagon or Hardtop, sill moulds, taillight panel, plusher interior, Standard 245, (265 and 318 V8 option) Charger coupe was available in base, XL or luxury 770, the 6 pack E48 option was available on all models. In August 1974, a special run of 500 Vintage Red Sportsman Chargers were released with 265 and 4 speed. The base Dodge Utility and upspec Valiant Utility were also still available. The long wheelbase Chrysler by Chrysler was carried over, the CH becoming the CJ, next to no change tho. Engines; 140hp 215, 165hp 245 or 203hp 265 Hemi 6s (E48 6 Pack was 270hp) and 230hp 318, 275hp 340 (E55) or 255hp 360 V8s |
