Description

The Plymouth was introduced in 1928, Chryslers lowest priced car. In 1972, four different size cars were available; The compact A body Valiant 4 door Sedan, Valiant Scamp 2 door Hardtop and 2 door Duster Sport Coupe. The Intermediate B body Satellite and Road Runner (same platform as the Dodge Coronet and Charger) And the full size C body Fury I, II, III and Gran. Barracudas were built from 1964-74. The first generation built on the Valiant A body platform, the 1970-74 second generation, built on the new E body 'Pony' car platform. Sharing this platform was the Dodge Challenger. 1972 Styling went back to single headlights, similar to 1970 and four circular tail lights, the Barracuda would remain basically unchanged now through to 1974, the Convertible no longer available. Safety bumpers were added in 1973. For late production 1973 cars, and for 1974 a slightly more powerful 360 V8 (245 hp) replaced the 340. Models available were; The base Barracuda, with 230hp 318 V8 (2 door Hardtop)

The performance car was called the Cuda, now with 360 V8, no big blocks available from 1972 on
