Description
Deutsch: 23.05.1975 DDR 6551 [07924] Walsburg (Eßbach): Von der einstigen "Walsburg" sind im Wald nur noch versteckte Erdwälle übrig, etwa hier (GMP: 50.578400,11.684100). Geringfügige Mauerreste auf dem Bergsporn über dem rechten Ufer der Saale zwischen Eßbach und Walsburg weisen auf die ehemalige Befestigungsanlage Walsburg hin. Sie diente seinerzeit zum Schutz und zur Hilfe beim Saaleübergang dem Verkehr zwischen der Orlasenke mit Arnshaugk und Bad Lobenstein. Die Burg bauten wohl die Lobdeburger, denn 1323 kam sie in Besitz der Schwarzburger und wurde im 15. Jahrhundert aufgegeben. [U19750522K03D21.TIF]19750523950UR.JPG(c)Blobelt
