The VS Commodore was built from April 1995-August 1997. The final facelift on the second generation Commodore. Visually very little changed from the VR, ecotec badges, enhanced grille, but the VS did get the new ECOTEC engine, more power and better economy. With the Series II VS, a Supercharged V6 became available. Models available; Executive; 3.8 6 cyl, manual trans (Opt auto), 4 wheel discs New Acclaim; auto trans, safety pack; ABS, IRS, airbag Berlina; 3.8, auto trans, air con, power windows, alloys Calais; velour interior, trip computer and cruise control S; 3.8 6 cyl, basic body kit, sports interior, FE2 suspension SS; 5.0 V8, full body kit, sports interior, FE2 suspension, alloys HSV built performance versions for Holden, available were; Clubsport; base model HSV, bodykit, 185kw 5.0 GTS; next model up, bigger brakes, 215kw 5.7 Senator; based on the Berlina, luxury plus power. Limited Edition GTS-R; 85 made, all yellow, 5.7 V8 Maloo; HSV Utility, high performance V8 and bodykit Engines; 147kw 3.8 Ecotec V6, 165kw 3.8 Supercharged V6 or 168kw 5.0 V8 (185kw HSV) |
