1st C. AD Dolphin Brooch fragment - upper side
Description
English: Fragment of cast copper-alloy dolphin brooch of probable 1st C. AD date. Only the upper part of brooch is present. It was originally a hinge type of brooch. The wings have simple moulded decoration as does the bow, which tapers gradually from where it rises from the wings to the point where it is broken off. Located mid-way along the wings is a pin slot. Measures 24.8mm high, by 29.8mm wide. Weight = 6.67g.
