Description
Deutsch: 16.07.2006 Dresden: Centrum Warenhaus Prager Straße 17 [GMP: 51.045821,13.735333] mit der Wabenfassade der ungarischen Architekten Ferenc Simon und Ivan Fokvari. Das Centrum Warenhaus, wegen seiner Fassade liebevoll Silberwürfel genannt, gehörte einst zu den schönsten Einkaufstempeln der DDR. Im März 1970 wurde der Grundstein gelegt, im Oktober 1978 war Einweihung. Der Bau war eine sowjetisch-ungarisch-deutsche Kooperation. Je Etage hatte das Haus 4500 m2 Verkaufsfläche. Nach der Wende hat Hertie, dann Karstadt das Haus übernommen. Letztlich wird der Abriß beschlossen. Am 30.06.2006 schließt der Silberwürfel für immer seine Tore. Sicht von der Reitbahnstraße.
