Description
Deutsch: 18.10.2006 04031 Mühlberg/Elbe, Güldenstern: Kloster Marienstern. Klosterkirche St. Maria (GMP: 51.435970,13.219440). Einschiffiger Backsteinbau mit romanischen Bauteilen, ursprünglich nach 1228, in der 2. Hälfte des 13. Jahrhunderts frühgotischer Umbau der Ostteile, zwischen 1330 und 1350 Umbau des Langhauses, 1539 und 1643 durch Brand beschädigt, 1906 erneuert, mit Kreuzrippengewölben. Sicht von Südwesten. Das Zisterzienserinnenkloster wurde 1228 gegründet und 1559 aufgelöst. Nach der Reformation und Klosterauflösung wurde das Gebäude 1565 zur Pfarrkirche der Altstadt geweiht. Das Kloster verdankt seine Entstehung dem in Mühlberg ansässigen Adelsgeschlecht von Ileburg (von Eilenberg), die als Burgvögte und Markgrafen von Meißen den Elbübergang sicherten.
