English: Four 17th-early 18th century silver buttons or cuff-link fragments with crown & hearts, flowerhead or flaming hearts & arrows motifs .
2006 T532F: Circumstances: Found while searching with a metal detector Description: Silver button, flat disc with downturned rim which has become separated almost all the way around, wire loop on reverse. Clasped hands with a crown above and two hearts each surmounted with a pellet, bellow. Date: Late 17th – 18th century. Dimensions: Original diameter c. 14mm The age and precious metal content of this item therefore probably qualify it as treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996. 2006 T532G: Circumstances: Found while searching with a metal detector Description: Octagonal silver button or cuff link with straight sides and wire loop on reverse. Short engraved line along each edge, central engraved hexagonal flower motif. Date: 17th – 18th century Dimensions: Diameter 12.5mm. The age and precious metal content of this item therefore probably qualify it as treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.

The age and precious metal content of this item therefore qualify it as treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996. 2006 T532J: Circumstances: Found while searching with a metal detector Description: Silver cuff link or button. Disc with two engraved lines around the edge and ‘I•H’ stamped off-centre, joined by a circular sectioned bar to smaller disc with downturned sides showing a flaming heart with two arrows through it. Date: 17th – 18th century Dimensions: Diameter of upper disc 13mm, diameter of lower disc 14.5mm, thickness 7mm. The age and precious metal content of this item therefore qualify it as treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996. |
