Description
Deutsch: 02.09.2007 01067 Dresden-Altstadt, Theaterplatz: Restaurant Italienisches Dörfchen (GMP: 51.054445,13.737217), erbaut 1911-1913 nach Plänen von Hans Jakob Erlwein. An dieser Stelle standen einst die Häuser der an der Hofkirche beschäftigten italienischen Steinmetzen. Der plastische Schmuck stammt vom Professer Georg Wrba. An der Innenausstattung ware u.a. die Maler Otto Gussmann, Paul Perks und Paul Rössler beteiligt. Bereits vor dem Erlweinbau gab es hier eine bekannte, aber wesentlich volkstümlichere Gaststätte, das Helbigsche Restaurant. Das Erlwein "Italienische Dörfchen" war im Februar 1945 ausgebrannt. Anläßlich der 750-Jahr-Feier der Stadt 1956 wurde mit dem Wiederaufbau unter Leitung der Architekten Johannes Rascher und Gerhard Guder begonnen. Am 01.06.1957 wurden die ersten Gäste begrüßt. Nach 1977 diente es vorwiegend der Bauarbeiterversorgung von Schloß und Semperoper. 1991-94 wurde es umfassend saniert und am 23.02.1994 mit einem Ball in altem Glanz wiedereröffnet.
