Description
Deutsch: 14.10.2007 01097 Dresden-Innere Neustadt: Rebecca-Brunnen (GMP: 51.061219,13.742597). Am Platz An der Dreikönigskirche, der 1854 bis 1857 so gestaltet wurde, steht der Rebecca-Brunnen. Vermutlich kam er in der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts im Zusammenhang mit der Errichtung des Turmes der Dreikönigskirche (1864) an diese Stelle. Die Figur der Rebecca verschwand wahrscheinlich 1952 spurlos. 1953 war der Brunnen wieder in Betrieb. Im Mai 1994 wurde eine umfassende Sanierung abgeschlossen. Die heutige Brunnenfigur wurde an der Kunstschule Burg Giebichenstein nach den alten Fotoaufnahmen und anderen historischen Dokumenten 1993/94 von Michael Boleslav Karlowski nachgebildet. Die dreistufige Treppe, der Brunnentrog und die Delphine entstanden aus Sandstein neu. Die alte Brunnensäule aus Sandstein konnte wiederverwendet werden. Der Aufbau aus Stahlguss ist erneuert.
