The VE Commodore was built from August 2006-May 2013. The 1st of the 4th generation Commodores, on a new platform, the design completely Australian, not based on the European Opel like previous models. The engines were carried over from the previous VZ. Available in Sedan, Wagon and Utility. The Series II arrived in August 2010, a new look front fascia and an aerodynamic lip to the boot lid. Models available were; Omega; 6cyl manual (auto and air con options) steel wheels SV6; more powerful V6, mild body kit, sports interior, alloys. SS; 6.0 V8, dual exhaust, body kit, sports interior, FE2 suspension. Berlina; upmarket interior, larger tail lights, fog lamps, 17in alloys. Calais; high output V6 (V8 option), upmarket interior, etc Also Statesman and Caprice HSV also built performance sedans for Holden, available were; Clubsport R8 in sedan or wagon, GTS, Senator and Grange. Also Maloo R8 ute. The Series II HSV cars got daytime running lights in the front fascia.
