Title |
2007 T138 Post Medieval bodkin |
||
Description |
English: Post-medieval silver bodkin made from thin silver sheet, broader at one end with pierced circular opening and longitudinal opening, tapering to a point (broken) at the other. Bent several times along its length. Weight: 1.27g, length: 85mm. The lack of any decoration or initials suggests this is a bodkin rather than a dress pin. 17th Century. As such, due to its age and precious metal content, this object qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
