Description
Deutsch: 15.02.2008 01159 Dresden-Friedrichstadt, Gambrinusstraße 2 (GMP: 51.050693,13.70961): Mietshaus um 1895. Die Friedrichstadt wurde 1730 von August dem Starken als zweite barocke Stadterweiterung nach der Neustadt gegründet. Der Stadtteilname bezieht sich auf den damaligen Kronprinzen Friedrich August (1696-1763), während der Straßenname an die nahe Actien-Brauerei Gambrinus erinnert, die bis 1923 in Betrieb war. Um Gambrinus- und Behringstraße wurde im letzten Jahrzehnt des 19. Jahrhunderts eine geschlossene Mietshausbebauung errichtet. Obwohl hier überwiegend Arbeiter mit geringen Einkommen wohnten, sind die Hauseingänge oftmals sehr ansprechend gestaltet, wie hier in der Gambrinusstraße 2. Hausbesitzer Friedrich August Gappel schmückte sich mit dem Titel eines Bürovorstehers, war also Beamter. Die weitgehend rekonstruierte Ausmalung ist beschränkt auf Entree und Zwischenflur.
