Landhausstraße bis zum Johanneum. V.l.n.r.: Landhausstraße 4, 2, Neumarkt 8 / Ecke Landhausstraße. Das Gebäude Landhausstraße 4 (GMP: 51.050739,13.741948) fällt durch seine rostrote Fassadenfarbigkeit auf. Die Fassade des schmalen, nur drei Fensterachsen breiten Hauses wurde originalgetreu rekonstruiert. Ratszimmermeister Johann George Schmidt (1707-1774) hatte sie 1763 im Rokokostil gestaltet, woran die zarten Rocaille-Ornamente über den Fenstern erinnern. In der Landhausstraße 2 führt eine Einfahrt in die Tiefgarage unter dem Neumarkt. Die zugehörige Hausfassade wurde vom Dresdner Büro Wörner & Partner entworfen. Den Architekten gelang es, die traditionelle Fassadengliederung in erfrischender Selbstverständlichkeit in eine zeitgemäße Form zu überführen.
