Deutsch: 28.04.2008 02625 Bautzen: Ortenburg. Blick durch die Schloßstraße zum Matthiasturm (GMP: 51.183370,14.421069). Die Ortenburg ist seit dem 10 Jahrhundert Grenzfeste des Meißner Markgrafen Ekkehard. Im 15. Jahrhundert vom ungarischen König Matthias Corvinus (1440-1490), dem damals als König von Böhmen auch die Lausitz gehörte, abgetragen und als Ortenburg neu errichtet. Der Matthiasturm, der um 1486 unter König Matthias Corvinus erbaut wurde, bewacht den Hauptzugang. Die Macht des Landesherrn verdeutlicht ein reich geschmücktes Sandsteinrelief über der Tordurchfahrt. Es zeigt den gekrönten König und die Wappen dervon ihm beherrschten Länder.
