Description
Deutsch: 02.04.2009 04741 Gleisberg (zu Stadt Roßwein): Dorfkirche Gleisberg, Hauptstraße / Ecke Chorener Straße. Im Kern eine romanische Chorturmkirche aus der Zeit um 1200. Eines der ältesten Gotteshäuser des Döbelner Landes. Der Schnitzaltar, hier in der Passionszeit geschlossen, stammt aus dem Jahre 1519 und wird dem Meister des Döbelner Hochaltars zugeschrieben. Er soll ausd em benachbarten Kloster Altzella stammen Im Chor stand ein romanischer Taufstein, der sich aber zuletzt im Museum des Sächsischen Altertumsverein in Dresden befand u. dort 1945 zerstört wurde. Als Ersatz wurde d. Taufstein aus der 1975 zum Abriss freigegebenen Kirche in Riesa-Canitz nach Gleisberg gebracht. Er ist ebenfalls romanischen Ursprungs und mit einem eingeritzten Fries verziert.
