Description
Deutsch: 02.04.2009 04741 Niederstriegis (Roßwein), Winkel: Dorfkirche (GMP: 51.078702,13.151061). Der einstmals große Zulauf bewog die Kircheninspektion, über den Bau eines größeren Gotteshauses nachzudenken. Den Auftrag erhielt der erfahrene Kirchenbaumeister Christian Friedrich Uhlig (1774-1848) aus Altenhain bei Chemnitz, der zuvor die Kirche in Waldheim errichtet hatte. Da er noch vor Baubeginn starb, übernahmen seine beiden Söhne Gustav Uhlig, Maurermeister in Grünhain, und Carl Ferdinand Uhlig, Zimmermeister in Altenhain, die Bauausführung. Am 11. Juli 1849 begann der Abbruch der alten Kirche. Noch im gleichen Jahr wurden die Außenmauern des neuen Gotteshauses errichtet, dessen Einweihung die Gemeinde am 15. Dezember 1850 feierte.
