Length: 42.16mm; Width (blade) 23.56mm; Weight 25.0g Discussion The hoard can be dated to the Ewart Park phase (c. 1000-800BC) of the Late Bronze Age due to the presence of a Southeastern Type socketed axe and a broken End-Winged axe (Turner 2010). The presence of a rapier blade fragment, a further broken socketed axe and six copper alloy ingot fragments supports this dating. Similar hoards have been recently found nearby in the Maldon area (Treasure Annual Report 2005/6, 36) and Langford, Essex (ibid. 35-36). Conclusion This can be considered as potential Treasure under the 1996 Treasure Act (2002 Amendment). Reference Treasure Annual Report 2005/6. DCMS Turner, L. 2010.
