Description
Deutsch: 23.07.2011 09599 Freiberg Sa., Petriplatz: Petrikirche (GMP: 50.916556,13.340937): Errichtet wurde das Kirchengebäude etwa um 1200 mit der Freiberger Oberstadt als spätromanische Basilika und war anfangs Hauptkirche der Stadt. Die heutige dreischiffige spätgotische Hallenkirche entstand im Wesentlichen 1401-1440 mit Benutzung von spätromanischen und gotischen Bauteilen. Nach Brand erneuert 1729-34. Theodor Quentin veränderte 1896 erheblich den Innenraum der Kirche. 1974 bis 1986 erfolgte im Zusammenhang mit der Vereinigung der Innenstadtgemeinden St. Petri und St. Nikolai der Umbau in die jetzige Form.
