Description
Deutsch: 23.03.2012 04828 Schmölen (Bennewitz): Rittergut Schmölen, Herrenhaus, Am Achterwasser 6 (GMP: 51.350571,12.725144). Das Herrenhaus ist aus einem alten Rittersitz hervorgegangen. Zu den Adelsfamilien, die auf Schmölen saßen, gehörten die von Schleinitz, Thümmel, Seydlitz, Zedlitz, Damnitz und Nitzschwitz. 1901 ersteigerte Dr. Karl Johannes Schultz aus Chemnitz den Hof und ließ noch im gleichen Jahr ein neues Herrenhaus errichten. Von 1947 bis 2002 war hier ein Altenpflegeheim. Seit 2007 betreiben die Familien Franck und Korpowski hier eine Pension. Doppelwappen am parkseitigen Giebel. Die beigefügten Monogramme F. L. V. D. und R. S. W. V. R. beziehen sich auf Friedrich Leberecht von Damnitz, der das Rittergut von 1705 bis 1715 in Besitz hatte, und seine Ehefrau, die Tochter des sächsischen Generals Hans Hermann Wostromirsky von Rokitnik (1647-1718).
