Title
2012 T396 Medieval silver brooch
Description
English: Description: A silver open-frame brooch, made by bending a circular-sectioned wire to form the now-distorted ring. The pin is of circular section, tapers to a point and is slightly bent. Adjacent to the pin loop there is a moulded collar decorated with punched circles.

Discussion: A parallel for this brooch is Treasure find 2006 T161 from Wiltshire (TAR 2005/6: 104, no. 316).

In terms of age, and as the object contains a minimum of 10% precious metal, it qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996.
