Description Between 1901 and 1927 the Chicago and Interurban Traction Company operated an electric railway between 63rd and Halsted in Chicago and Kankakee. It passed through Blue Island on Western Ave. The company, as well as the Western Ave. street front, has been memorialized in a scale model display in the Blue Island Public Library.
