Description
Deutsch: 14.06.2013 01219 Dresden Leubnitz-Neuostra, Heiligenbornweg am Koitzschgraben: Heiliger Born. Der Heilige Born hat zwei Brunnenausläufe. Der 2. Brunnenauslauf (GMP: 51.010246,13.762032 ), hier im Bild, befindet sich in der Nähe der Brunnenstraße. Diesen faßte man 1963 in Sandstein. 1992 wurde die Anlage umgestaltet. Zwischen zwei Sandsteinen sprudelt das Quellwasser aus einem als Fisch gestalteten Wasserpeier aus Bronze (der hier offensichtlich fehlt) in die Brunnenschale. Die Plastik wurde von Petra Graupner geschaffen. Eine halbkreisförmige Bank faßt sie ein und bildet einen schönen Ruheplatz. Der Heilige Born gilt heute als einer der ältesten Brunnen Dresdens. Im Mittelalter befand sich in der Nähe des Quells eine Kapelle. Damit brachte der Brunnen erhebliche Einkünfte für die Abtei Alt-Zella. Bereits Anfang des 18. Jh. führte eine hölzerne Wasserleitung u.a. zu "herrschaftlichem Gebrauch" in die Stadt, so z.B. zum Pirnaischen Palais, dem Haupt Zug Haus und zum Frau Mutter Haus. Diese Leitung wurde im Siebenjährigen Krieg zerstört. Später wurde die 'hölzerne Leubnitzer Röhrfahrt' neu aufgebaut und zuletzt um 1850 erneuert. 1875 wurden die hölzernen Rohre durch gußeiserne ersetzt. [Quelle: Jochen Hänsch, SZ, 22.12.2008, S. 20].
