Summary[edit]

Description

Two stilt fishermen (or more likely actors) pose on the stilt poles that are used as perches to fish from. The practice supposedly started during World War II. Stilt positions are passed down from father to son (or rented to actors). The 2004 tsunami devastated the shoreline and reduced the catch, making stilt fishing less productive than tourism today.
