Summary[edit]

Description
English: View of two former islands in the river Meuse in Maastricht, Netherlands. The larger is island is Sint-Antoniuseiland, named after Saint Anthony (the monastery of the Order of St Anthony, or Antonietenklooster, can be just seen on the right) and the Moleneiland, named after the Maasmolen, a large mill. Bottom right: the bastion Schonevaardersbolwerk. Detail of the 20th-century copy of the Maquette of Maastricht, an exact scale model of the city and its fortifications in 1750, a project coordinated by French engineer Larcher d'Aubencourt during the French occupation of Maastricht. The original is in the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille, France. The copy is in the Centre Céramique in Maastricht.
