Summary[edit]

Description
English: View from the south of the country house La Grande Suisse in Maastricht-Mariënwaard, the Netherlands. The villa was built around 1735 and enlarged with two towers around 1865. From 1875 until 1954 it was used as a Franciscan nunnery and boarding school for girls. In 2018 plans were approved to renovate the derelict building for use as a crematorium. At the time, little remained of the extensive gardens which partly had been taken up by an institution and school for children with special needs.
