Summary[edit]

Description
English: View from the south of villa La Petite Suisse (or Villa Kanjel or Dr. Poelsoord) in Maastricht-Mariënwaard, Netherlands. The villa was built for a member of the Regout family of entrepreneurs in Maastricht, designed around 1880 by the Aachen architect Wilhelm Wickop, and replacing an older structure on these grounds. After fulfilling various purposes (most prominently a maternal clinic) it has now been standing empty for a few years. The now overgrown garden in the English landscape style was designed by the Belgian landscape architect Jean Gindra. The Kanjel brook serves as a moat and fills the ponds.
