Description

English: A severe drought in the Amazon is disrupting transportation, isolating communities and putting wildlife at risk. The Amazon and its tributaries, including the Rio Negro that joins the Amazon at Manaus (imaged here), fell to their lowest level in over a century. The images were acquired October 9, 2023 and August 15, 2020. They cover an area of 30 by 45 km, and are located at 2.8 degrees south, 60.7 degrees west.
