Description
Nederlands: Detail van een plattegrond, deels maquettebouw, van de spoorzone in Maastricht-Oost, als onderdeel van de tentoonstelling Van OVER HET SPOOR naar BOVEN HET SPOOR in Centre Céramique in Maastricht (10 september t/m 26 november 2022). De tentoonstelling werd samengesteld door Jo Coenen, architect en stedenbouwkundige, en Luc Soete, econoom en voormalig rector magnificus van de Universiteit Maastricht. Coenen en Soete bedachten in 2021 een plan om Station Maastricht uit te breiden met een ondergronds station voor de doorgaande spoorlijnen richting Luik. Aansluitend zou de spoorweg tussen de stations Maastricht en Maastricht-Randwyck door een tunnel geleid worden, waardoor het daarboven gelegen gebied opnieuw ingericht kan worden. Deze uitsnede toont de centraalbouw van het gebouw La Fortezza van Mario Botta.
