Nederlands: Detail van de Maquette Maastricht 1867, gefotografeerd tijdens een open dag in 2023 in museum/brouwerij Bosch (v/h De Keyzer) in Wyck-Maastricht. Aan de maquette, die voor minder dan de helft voltooid is, wordt sinds 1999 door vrijwilligers van de Stichting Maastricht 1867 gewerkt. Hier de vestingwerken ten zuiden van Maastricht, gezien vanuit het oosten. Op de voorgrond links het rondeel De Vijf Koppen en de zgn. Zwanengracht, die als zwaaikom dienst deed voor schepen op het Kanaal Luik-Maastricht (voorgrond). Ten westen van De Vijf Koppen het rondeel Haet ende Nijd en de stadsgracht. Van de binnenstedelijke bebouwing is op de maquette nog maar een klein deel gerealiseerd, waaronder de Helpoort (rechtsonder) en de watermolens Het Ancker (voorgrond midden; ook wel Pesthuys genoemd) en De Vijf Koppen (midden). Het ommuurde gebouw met tentdak is een kruithuis. Het langgerekte gebouw naast de Helpoort is het gemeentelijk slachthuis (1821-1901). Op het terrein is een schacht te zien, waarin het slachtafval werd gedumpt. Via een Jekertak die achter Het Ancker liep, kwam het terecht in de "Bloodbak", een overloopbassin in het Kanaal Luik-Maastricht. |
