Description |
English: Cast copper alloy zoomorphic brooch in the shape of a bird length 26mm, width 23mm thickness 10mm, weight 3.25g. Triangular plate which consists of a central large triangular cell divided into four smaller triangles, this has two large rectangular cells running either side, all would have contained enamel. The base of the triangle has a small semicircular projection (10mm wide that has a bird head on the top and the catch plate underneath. The tip of the triangle would have expanded into a birds tail but this has been truncated resulting in the loss of the pin mount.
This artefact dates to the 2nd century. |
