2nd century Roman pottery (two sherds)
Description
English: Two sherds of the same vessel. They are part of a 2nd century Roman household coarse ware vessel, possibly a beaker. The fabric is light grey and the clay was tempered with small stones and grit. The bottom sherd and body sherd fit together (comp. picture).

Measurements: 1. (body sherd) LE: 905mm, WI: 77mm, Thickness: 5mm, 2. (bottom sherd) LE: 770mm, WI: 42mm, Thickness: 6mm

The finds were recorded at Penrith Finds Day, 14.06.05.
