Title |
30: medieval ceramic vessel rim shard |
||
Description |
English: A rim sherd from a medieval ceramic vessel. The sherd is 43.6mm long, 32.1mm wide and the wall is 7.5mm thick. It weighs 25.9g. The fabric is dark orange throughout. The fabric has frequent poorly sorted light coloured grains (quartz?) and many dark and red grains (grog or rock?). It is soft and irregular with a gritty surface. This pottery is probably in the Northern Gritty Ware tradition. The rim radius is about 120mm. |
