Description
English: 330-PS-9113 (USN 710225): Going, Going, Gone! USS Triton (SSRN 586), the largest U.S. Submarine, slides down the ways into the Thames River at Groton, Connecticut, during launching ceremonies on August 19th, 1958. Triton is powered by two atomic reactors, it measures 447 feet in length and has a 5,900-ton displacement, August 22, 1958. (11/5/2014).
