Title
34: medieval ceramic vessel rim shard
Description
English: A rim sherd from a medieval ceramic vessel. The sherd is 51.54mm long, 22.34mm wide and the wall is 5.3mm thick. It weighs 17.2g. The fabric is pale orange with a light grey core. The fabric has frequent poorly sorted light coloured grains (quartz?) and many large dark and red grains (grog or rock?). It is soft and fine with a gritty surface. This pottery is probably in the Northern Gritty Ware tradition. The rim radius is about 70mm.
