3A4A53. roman bird brooch
Description
English: Roman copper alloy zoomorphic bird brooch, 24mm long and 8mm wide. The object is in a fair condition with a brown patina and weighs 2.36 grams. The brooch is in the form of a bird with a triangular sectioned body which is trapezoidal in form and is decorated with triangular shaped depressions which may have held enamel. Its tail, also trapezoidal in form has been bent slightly. It is missing its pin and hinge. similar to fig. 1157 in Hattatts ancient brooches.
