Title
598783 dress hook
Description
English: Post Medieval copper alloy dress hook, 31mm long and 17mm wide. The object consists of a circular plate, 14mm in diameter, which has a 'frilled' edge made up of small semi-circular protrusions. Inside this is a raised circular border which contains an incised cross with a small raised circle in its centre. Each quarter is decorated with drilled holes, 4 in each, these have no filled with bright green corrosion. Above the circle is a rectangular suspension loop, 11mm wide, with a square section. Directly opposite this is a shaft 12mm long and 2mm wide, which is also square in section. This would have formed the hook, which is now missing. B Read, 2008, Pg. 99, No.370.
