Description
  • Italiano: Frammento della stele funeraria di Diogenes figlio di Apollonides, originario di Pyrrha nell'isola di Lesbo, della metà del secolo IV a.C. La policromia (specialmente lo sfondo blu), perduta in quasi tutte le altre steli funerarie antiche, è qui conservata in modo eccezionale. La stele è oggi esposta nella Sala delle steli funerarie attiche, al primo piano del Museo archeologico del Pireo (Atene). Foto di Giovanni Dall'Orto, 14 novembre 2009.
  • English: Fragment of the funerary stele for Diogenes son of di Apollonides, from Pyrrha in the island of Lesbos, dating from the mid 4th century BC. Polychromy (especialluy the blue blackground), which is lost in almost any other ancient funeraray stele, is here exceptionally well preserved. The stele is now on display in the Room of the Attic stelai, at the first floor of the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus (Athens). Picture by Giovanni Dall'Orto, November 14 2009.
