9: medieval ceramic vessel shard
Description
English: A medieval rim fragment from a ceramic vessel. The sherd is 35.2mm long, 21.5mm wide and the rim is 11.2mm thick. It weighs 12.49g. It has an angled rim and the shoulder flares out. The fabric is buff with an orange pink outer and inner surface. It has frequent light coloured angular glassy inclusions (quartz?) with some red and grey irregular particles (grog?). The inclusions are poorly sorted. It is soft and the breaks are abraded. The radius of the rim is approximately 90mm.
