Description
Italiano: Lapide latina per il vescovo Cristoforo Lattuada, "che fra gli altri onori fu cooptato da Ludovico Sforza, Duca di Milano, nel suo gabinetto segreto, e inviato come ambasciatore presso i veneziani riuscì a sopire il nascente dissidio fra i due stati. Giovan Battista Lattuada, figlio del fratello, ne traslò qui i resti dalla demolita chiesa di Sant'Angelo nel 1557" (la precedente chiesa di Sant'Angelo fu infatti demolita per fare spazio alle fortificazioni militari delle cosiddette "mura spagnole"). La lapide si trova ora sulla testata del transetto sinistro della chiesa di Sant'Angelo a Milano. Foto di Giovanni Dall'Orto, 22-4-2007.
English: Latin plaque for the bishop Cristoforo Lattuada, "who among other honours was co-opted by Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, in his secret cabinet, and who, sent as an ambassador to Venice succeded in hushing down the growing disagreement between the two states. Giovan Battista Lattuada, son of his brother,brought here his bones from the demolished church of Sant'Angelo in 1557". (The church previously bearing the name of Sant'Angelo was in fact demolished for military reasons to build the so-called "Spanish Wall").
