Description
English: A U.S. Navy Grumman A-6E Intruder aircraft (BuNo 157003) of attack squadron VA-75 Sunday Punchers and Vought A-7E Corsair II aircraft of VA-46 Clansmen fly in formation as they prepare for refueling during "Operation Desert Storm" in early 1991. The Corsairs are armed with cluster bombs and AIM-9L Sidewinder air-to-air missiles. The Intruder carrier four drop tanks and a "buddy-buddy" refueling pack. VA-76 and VA-46 were assigned to Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) from 15 August 1990 to 28 March 1991. This was the last deployment for the A-7 Corsair. The A-6E 157003 was retired to AMARC as 5A0083 on 19 November 1993.
Date (the date in the original caption reads 15 May 1992 but that is impossible because Operation Desert Storm was over by then).
