[edit]DescriptionA-7E Corsair IIs of VA-46 and VA-72 returning to NAS Celei Field in March 1991.jpeg | Eleven U.S. Navy Ling-Temco-Vought A-7E Corsair II from Attack Squadron 46 (VA-46) "Clansmen" and VA-72 "Blue Hawks" aircraft pass overhead upon their arrival at Naval Air Station Cecil Field, Florida (USA), on 27 March 1991. Both squadrons were assigned to Carrier Air Wing 17 (CVW-17) aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CV-67) for a deployment to the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea from 15 August 1990 to 28 March 1991, including the 1991 Gulf War. This was the last deployment of the A-7 and VA-46 and VA-72 were the last U.S. Navy Corsair II-squadrons to be disestablished on 30 June 1991. | |||
