"Allmänning" is a word still in use in Sweden for commons of many kinds. Specially the forest was owned as a common up to around 1760 - 1860. Between Sweden (in sensu stricta) and Germany, in Skåne, it was called "faelad".

English: Allmende is a very old German word for a village commons. The artwork seeks to remind viewers of this nearly forgotten word and the tradition of shared ownership and responsibility. Created as part of the "Ten Days" festival.
