Description
English: AWM caption : "The view over no man's land from the front line in the 24th Battalion's sector, near Flinte Farm, on 5 October 1917, the morning after the capture of Broodseinde Ridge. The enemy's line was 200 yards away. Some time later, in the grey dawn, the low dark line of trees on the right was mistaken for a counter attack and the resulting alarm obtained an extra issue of shells to the Germans."
