Title
A Bronze Age flat axe, dating from c. 2200 - c. 1800 BC.
Description
English: A complete (but badly corroded) cast bronze flat axe head, dating to the early Bronze Age between c. 2200-c. 1800 BC (length: 119mm; width at blade: 49mm; thickness 7mm; weight: 158.17g).

The butt of the axe head was probably rounded is shape, but it is difficult to tell, particularly with bronze disease around the edges. The artefact then widens at gradually and has a slightly splayed blade end. A distinct blade edge is unidentifiable (thickness at blade tip: 4mm), again particularly due to corrosion and a small area of bronze disease. Overall, the axe head is in a worn but fair condition with small patches of the original brown patina surviving.
